Originating in Taiwan in the 1980s, Bubble Tea has grown to become a worldwide phenomenon with many established chains around the world, including Chatime, Real Fruit Bubble Tea, and CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice (who are celebrating their 25th birthday this month, click here for more info!). Being the most multicultural city in the world, Toronto has a myriad of Bubble Tea spots; here our are selections for the Boba spots that you must pop into!
The Alley
Emerging as one of the most popular Bubble Tea shops in the city, The Alley offers patrons picturesque beverages made with the highest quality of ingredients; they make their own sugar cane syrup, prepare their tapioca from scratch, and use carefully selected tea leaves! Their menu includes a variety of beverages, including specialties such as the Apple of the Eye, Snow Strawberry Lulu, and the Lemon Winter Melon Punch!

Kung Fu Tea
Striving for consistency with every tea and tea colour, Kung Fu Tea emphasizes healthy and natural preparation with their open drink bar, ensuring transparency between them and their customers. Their expansive menu includes a variety of lattes, milk teas, fruity slushes, beverages with cheese milk foam, fresh fruit teas, delicious floats, and their traditional egg waffles!

Machi Machi
With a cute little doggy as their logo, Machi Machi has become one of Toronto’s go-to Bubble Tea shops! Their motto says “It’s not just a drink, it’s a way of life”, and they have curated a space that inspires innovation and originality. Their drink menu embodies this philosophy, with unique creations including a Strawberry Latte with Crème brûlée, a Fresh Mixed Berry Slush with Cream Foam, and a refreshing Fizzy Passionfruit Orange Honey Jasmine Green Tea!

OneZo Tapioca
OneZo Tapioca has earned their reputation as one of Toronto’s best Bubble Tea spots, offering a variety of customization options for your beverage in addition to their delicious homemade tapioca (of which they have six varieties!). They are known for their brown sugar Dirty Milk Tea, but offer a range of delicious beverages including their Strawberry Mocha Milk Tea and an innovative Pineapple Date Berry smoothie!

Tiger Sugar
An international dessert chain that originated in Taiwan, Tigar Sugar is known for using Black Sugar Boba in their signature drinks, a Taiwanese delicacy rich in minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients. Their aesthetically pleasing selection of teas include their brown sugar boba and pearl series, as well as their tea and tea lattes, and recommend you to upload a picture to your Insta and shake it 15 times before you drink it!

TRU TEA
Made for bubble tea lovers, TRU TEA is a shop founded right here in Toronto by three aficionados chasing a dream! Drawing inspiration from the citizens of Toronto and want to make customers feel as good as their drinks taste and look: “Truly good”. They feature some of the city’s most creative concoctions, including a Milk Tea made with Cake Flavoured Crème, and Trupioca beverages using low calorie Trupioca jelly!
