In the author’s humble opinion, those last few weeks of September and the first few weeks of October have the best weather of the year; it’s cold enough where a jacket is required but not too cold where you have to zip it up (the sweet spot is between 15 and 20 celsius). We may have passed that point, but the weather is still nice and the colours are still lovely; pull up a chair at these heated patios, grab your favourite drink, and enjoy the brisk nights of Autumn!
Bar Raval
Offering authentic Spanish options in the heart of Little Italy, Bar Raval is a tapas bar offering premium plates including fresh seafood and cultural staples. With an eclectic drink list, a heated patio, and a feature on the Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list, this is a great spot to get cozy with a cocktail on a cool night!

The Farmhouse Tavern is a rural escape in the middle of the city! They have a rotation of fifteen or more VQA wines that come from vineyards in Prince Edward County or the Niagara Peninsula, enjoyable at night or at brunch on their heated patio (maybe have a Mimosa?).

Hemingway’s Restaurant and Bar
Hemingway’s Restaurant and Bar is a lovely little spot tucked away in Yorkville, and is a great spot for trivia nights and to catch a game. If that isn’t your style, head upstairs to their cozy, chill patio and grab a classic or innovative cocktail (the author’s pick is the Raspberry Tom Collins).

It seems like tapas bars are making up a large portion of this list, but you’ve got to try some of the delicious namesake at La Paella! It’s more than just rice, and so are they; pair their delicious paellas with vintage wines or classic cocktails for a perfect patio sit!

Chef Chris Locke and his team have created an unforgettable dining experience at Marben! They work with local farmers and have emerged as one of the best farm-to-table restaurants in the city of Toronto, and serve a fantastic brunch on their heated patio!

Liberty Village’s School is one of the best places to get brunch in the city, and has a heated patio for those October mornings that are a little chillier than expected. Their creative menu includes a golden hashbrown poutine and a Krispy Krunchy french toast!

The Pilot
The author chose this photo because it’s a gorgeous drink and it sounds delicious (it’s a blood orange punch!), but there’s so much more good stuff at The Pilot.
