The Monkey’s Paw is a bookstore specializing in uncommon books and paper artifacts from the age of print. It’s also home to the Biblio-Mat, the world's first randomizing vending machine for old books.

Book Ends is run by the Toronto Public Library and definitely a hidden gem for booklovers. While you may have to do a bit of digging to find something good, materials range from $0.50 to $5. All the money raised from books sales are used to support library programs and services.

In the West End, Another Story is an independent bookstore where you’ll find books focused on social justice and politics. They also have a large children’s section, and even offer an educator discount.
