June is Pride Month, the celebration and unity of the world’s LGBTQ communities. This month-long event is held to not only celebrate the LGBTQ communities, but to acknowledge their history, the hardships they have endured and the progress that has been made. Pride celebrations will take place throughout the entire month in the city of Toronto. Free events will take place almost everyday in the month of June, including live music performances, picture shows and Queer exhibits.
Pride Parade will also take place at the end of the month. It's been two years without Pride celebrations in Toronto but Pride Parade is returning this year. Pride Toronto supports the LGBTQ+ communities of our city and is all about celebrating diversity. The full month of events will end with the annual Festival Weekend from June 24th-26th. From celebratory array of floats, music, costumes and performances, there is so much to see at the Pride Parade. This colourful and vibrant parade takes place on June 26th and starts from the corner of Church and Bloor St all the way down Yonge St to Yonge-Dundas Square.
